Very impressive barbersdrove, well done. I think i am right in saying Crowland Abbey bells were the first ever to be broadcast on national radio. Not sure when but it would be nice if someone could confirm this claim.

"The bells of Croyland Abbey have a rich and colourful history, The first bells to be hung in Britain were in the belfry here. The length of the ropes is also remarkable as is illustrated here."

and

"The bells that toll in Crowland today are much more recent than those described in the chronicle, but they are capable of a wonderful peal of sound - they have been broadcast on the BBC "Bells on Sunday" and are a delight to listen to as they call the faithful to prayer."
